Sunrise - a masterpiece by F. W. Murnau
It's summer, time for vacation and tourism in a lakeside village. Seduced by a Vampire from the city, a farmer abandons his wife and attempts to drown her while out on the water. But his action is stopped when she starts begging him. After docking, she flees in fear and boards a streetcar heading for the city, followed by her husband, who begs her forgiveness...
Dawn is F.W. Murnau's first American film. Building on the reputation of his German masterpieces (Nosferatu, Faust, The Last of the Men), he enjoyed a considerable budget on Dawn and the privilege of choosing his own crew.
Winner of 3 Oscars, Muranu is regarded as a jewel of silent cinema. L'Aurore is considered one of the most beautiful films in the history of cinema.
