Fruzsina Szuromi
Profile
Fruzsina Szuromi comes from a family of opera musicians. She is a choral conductor, pianist and a specialist in the Kodály Method. She obtained her degrees at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest and at the Geneva Conservatory of Music.
Since 2012, Fruzsina has been directing a a large oratorio choir, the Lausanne University Choir (UNI/EPFL) . In 2014, she founded the Vocal Ensemble, Evohé, a group of about twenty singers at UNI/EPFL. She also participated in the creation of the professional Ensemble Vocal Buissonnier in 2010.
Fruzsina Szuromi shares with the actor, Magali Dami, the direction of the "Maîtrise", a children’s choir, at the Geneva Conservatory of Music, Dance et Theater (CPMDT). This children's choir regularly collaborates with Geneva’s Orchestra (OSR) and performs in some of the Grand Théâtre’s opera productions.
Through her various musical engagements, Fruzsina has had the opportunity to conduct numerous orchestras, such as; the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, the Ensemble Baroque du Léman, the Camerata Alma Viva, the Niedermeyer Orchestra, and the EPFL Chamber Orchestra.
As a pianist, Fruzsina Szuromi has been appointed professor at the CPMDT. She also accompanies singing classes at the HEMGE and performs regularly in concerts.
