Florestan Darbellay, Cellist
Profile
Florestan Darbellay began playing the cello under the tutelage of his grandfather, François Courvoisier (at one time First cello for the Swiss Romande Orchestra). Florestan continued his studies at the Geneva Conservatory and at the University of Music in Lausanne.
At the latter, he was awarded his Diploma in teaching with congratulations from the jury. In 2010 he obtained his “Master in the Art of Music” from the University of the Arts in Zurich.
His passionate interest in Chamber music led him to perform with numerous musicians in various ensembles, from duets, to chamber orchestras. He is a regular performer with two Geneva Quartets: the Terpsycordes Quartet and the Byron Quartet.
