Benoît Capt, Baritone-Bass
Profile
After studying writing and musicology, Benoît Capt focused on becoming a Vocalist. Having been awarded several Scholarships he began his studies at the Geneva Conservatory of Music (HEM), continued his formation at the Mendelssohn Conservatory in Leipzig, Germany and finally returned to Switzerland studying with Gary Magby at the University of Music, Lausanne (HEMU).
Winner of several international competitions, he was awarded in 2008, the prestigious Prize, of the “ Cercle des Amis” ( Circle of Friends) of the Swiss Romande Orchestra for a Vocal CD that he had recorded with the pianist, Todd Camburn.
A few years earlier, in 2006, he made his debut with the Lausanne Opera. There he interpreted several important roles and continues to perform there. In parallel, he appears regularly on stage, in concerts or in recitals. He is the founder of the “Association Lied et Mélodie” based in Geneva.
