Humberto Salvagnin

Profile

Humberto Salvagnin was born in San Paulo, Brasil. He began his musical career on the piano, studying with Diva Gnecco and later with Rosa Corvino at the City Music School.

In 1992 he obtained his Superior Music Diploma in piano at San Paulo’s University, where he studied with Homero de Magalhaes.  He began his organ studies in 1983 with Orlando Retroz and Ary Aguiar Jr. in Brazil.

In 1998 he received his Superior Diploma in Organ at the Geneva Conservatory and was awarded First Prize in Organ Virtuosity in 2001. His professor was Francois Delor.

He was the winner of the 20th Suisse Organ Contest in 2002 and the “Cesar Franck” International Contest in Belgium in 2007.

M. Salvagnin concertizes regularly in Brazil, Switzerland and other European countries. He is the Titular Organist at the St. Thérèse Church in Geneva and plays regularly at the First Christian Science Church also in the city. In 2006, he was named Organ Professor at the Fernex-Voltaire Conservatory in France. He is also Organ Professor at the Internatonal Academy of Arts in Gland and president of the concerts “Les Dimanches d’Orgue et de Chant”.
